Our public realm projects are slow, small scale and long term work with deep engagement with stakeholders, such as local authorities, designers, communities and businesses. They range from improvements in housing design, incremental improvements, and eco-friendly retrofits, to healthcare design, public art, research and raising environmental awareness. Projects have been in the UK and abroad.
“I worked with Sumita on a [residential project] involving a roof extension. It was a long and (to me) complicated project but she was always very patient and professional. I found her highly creative and full of great ideas, especially regarding environmental developments and ways to incorporate them into the plan. Ultimately, she delivered a stunning copper box (before its time) that offered added value and a great talking point to my property.”
“As well as enjoying your company I was struck by your motivation and professionalism, as well as your sense of fairness in everything that you do”
“Saving energy is a subject dear to the heart of the West London based practice, Ecologic. [The practice] takes a green approach to improving and maintaining buildings and specialises in using recyclable and reclaimed materials.”
Guardian, June 3, 2000“The report was presented in a short time and was thoroughly researched, well reasoned and excellently presented. Ms Singha showed an immediate understanding of our concerns and of the approach we hoped she would take. She was completely professional in all our dealings, and when we commented on her preliminary draft, showed herself refreshingly open to our suggestions and comments, and showed a welcome absence of any kind of doctrinaire rigidity. It was a pleasure dealing with her, and I would have no hesitation in recommending her very warmly to anyone who might need her services”
David Peacock, former Chair of Elsham Road residents association, London W14“Sumita was a pleasure to work with on my home in Holland Park. She carefully and thoroughly explained procedures to me and helped me apply for planning permission. She inspired me to believe what could be possible. Her depth of personal caring and encouragement to go for a home I would be truly happy in stands out in my memory.”

“I engaged Sumita to design a basement flat rear extension and rework the interior floor plan.
She took the time to understand my vision, needs and wants, made solid recommendations, meticulously prepared the designs and steered me through the planning application process smoothly. Her professional but warm and easy manner made the experience of this, my first project, very positive and easy.”
“We were searching for a highly creative architect, forward thinking with great ideas and recommendations, excellent attention to detail and assisting us in achieving our desired scope and outcomes using minimum (financial) resources. Having met you for the first time, both of us felt that your services fit this bill so it would be nice to make a positive start.”
